Mom's Magic

Mama, Amma, Mom, Mummy, Aayi, Maai - a 'Common Noun'. The way we address the Goddess doesn't matter. Their love is unconditional. No matter how old the child is, that bond between mother and child never fades. She loves to cook and serve them with an emotional intimacy, a mixture of sweet spices...

She starts her day with a coffee, works all day and deserves only a smile.

"All that I am, I owe to my angel mother." "We are born of love; Love is our mother." "Mother is the name for God."

"When you look into your mother's eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth."

When she cooks for you, you are a blessed one!

Gujrathi thali.JPG

Gujarati's will often refer to dal-bhat-rotli-saak as their everyday meal.

Staples include homemade khichdi (rice and lentils or rice and mung beans), and chaas (buttermilk) and pickles as side. Main dishes are based on steamed cooked vegetables with different spices and dals that are added to a vaghar, which is a mixture of spices heated in oil that varies depending on the main ingredients. Saltsugarlemonlime, and tomatoes are used frequently to prevent dehydration.

The cuisine changes with the seasonal availability of vegetables.

Keri no Ras (fresh mango pulp) is often an integral part of the meal

Sweets (desserts) served as part of a thali are typically made from milksugar, and nuts.

When you buy new vessels, you find a brand sticker. If you try to scrub / or wash it, the gum remains.

There is a method to remove it easily. Just hold the vessel, plate, glass, etc with tongs on gas stove flame. Just remove it with a knife.

Now it's ready to be used!
